Before You Register, Understand the Commitment

✓PALP is more than monthly attendance. You'll complete real assignments, project responsibilities and follow-up work between sessions
✓You'll take part in the Community Impact Project and show your own contribution
✓You'll build a résumé, practice interviewing and apply for at least one scholarship, grant, award or funded opportunity
✓Service hours are based on verified participation, not on enrolling
✓You're expected to communicate, meet deadlines, complete revisions and use AI responsibly
✓The May Project Showcase and Leadership Defense and the June close are required, unless NVEEE approves an equivalent for a documented conflict

What PALP Students Say

“This program definitely changed me for the better. Before this, I would get scared just ordering something at a restaurant, but now I was able to get on a call with multiple people to coordinate our drop-off of supplies.”
Omar, PALP student · 2023–24

Interested in Becoming a Junior Counselor?

Registering for PALP doesn't include a Junior Counselor in Training spot. Junior Counselor in Training is a selective, by-invitation pathway. If you're invited, you complete regular PALP plus extra training, the February Junior Counselor Service and Training Retreat, live leadership practice, a May capstone, June operations training and final clearance before serving as a Junior Counselor.
