PALP for Parents & Guardians | High School Leadership Program

For Parents & Guardians

What Your Student Will Do, What PALP Expects and What You Should Know Before Registering

PALP is designed to help your student become more independent, not more dependent on adults.

PALP Is Designed to Build Independence

You're an important partner, but PALP work belongs to your student. We expect them to communicate, complete their own assignments, take part in project work, ask for help when they need it and learn to manage responsibilities more independently over time.

What PALP Does

  • Structures the program, sessions and checkpoints
  • Verifies participation, hours and roles
  • Provides guided tools through the Hub
  • Gives direct feedback and coaching

What Your Student Does

  • Attends and participates
  • Completes their own assignments and revisions
  • Contributes their own part to the Community Impact Project
  • Speaks up early when stuck

What You Do

  • Protect scheduled PALP time
  • Help with transportation and technology
  • Ask what your student is responsible for
  • Share safety and schedule information through the right channel

Multi-Year Growth

Your student can join in 9th Grade and continue through 12th Grade. Each returning year brings more leadership responsibility, so your student builds a stronger record over time instead of starting over.
