Programs & Services

National Voices for Equality, Education, and Enlightenment’s work falls into three main categories: research, education, and development of proactive responses. NVEEE is devoted to conducting basic research on hate crime issues. The organization’s work is based on compiling and maintaining current and accurate information about such crimes throughout Florida and the United States. We will recruit volunteers to research topics, compile data, and input information into an active database of hate crimes, to be archived and made available to the public through our website at www.nveee.org. Volunteers will monitor police logs and newspaper reports for accuracy so that NVEEE can highlight both the good and the bad. In addition, NVEEE plans to relay hate crime alerts and prepare further documentation to help residents of the community protect themselves and any youth, to assist in bringing suspects to the attention of police. The organization will make this information available through its website, local newspapers, flyers and leaflets.

NVEEE seeks to show youths that knowledge is indeed power. We will aim to provide contributions to students who have been victims of hate crimes and/or are taking great steps to enlighten their community and the world of the detriments of hate crimes. This includes scholarship opportunities, special events and mentoring support. All of this will be made possible through the generosity and enthusiasm of NVEEE staff, officers, clients and friends, made through in-kind, charitable, and online donations. We plan to advertise and encourage donation to the scholarship programs by networking in the community, through seminars, events, and viral marketing. This program will begin immediately upon tax-exempt status. The officers of NVEEE will administer the programs. They will also actively solicit volunteers to help with the programming of events, and with the public school boards within the tri-counties of Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach to allow work with NVEEE to count towards community service requirements.

NVEEE seeks to focus public debate on solutions to the surge of hate crimes in the U.S., and to provide educational resources to at-risk youths. The research, education, and outreach activities will be aimed toward promoting changes in the community and educating the youth to help prevent hate crimes and respond to victims and community members who require support.

NVEEE plans to implement peer-to-peer mentoring programs, education seminars and in-school workshops allowing young adults to mentor one another. NVEEE will concentrate its educational and outreach activities in communities and neighborhoods most directly affected by hate crimes as they occur, with an emphasis on offering education and mentoring services to low- and middle-income, multicultural, and rural communities to educate and hopefully prevent further incidents within the tri-counties of Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach.

The organization intends to solicit donations from individuals and organizations who support its goals or who may be benefiting from its work. Such groups include, but are not limited to, neighborhood groups; GBLTQ rights groups, women’s safety groups, and the parents of high school and university students.

NVEEE will inspire and educate young adults in an effort to encourage them to become productive members of society while building a better future where they can live proudly in their own skin without fear of persecution
