Peace For a Day
NVEEE ‘PEACE FOR A DAY’ CAMPAIGN
Peace for a Day is a national campaign challenging students, teachers, parents, politicians and community leaders alike to help create peace in schools.
Peace for a Day . . . then a Month . . . Next a Year.
NVEEE, along with our teen mentors and volunteers, have developed a creative campaign that puts the power to change lives in your hands, and commences on NVEEE’s one-year anniversary, October 20, 2010, and will continue through 2011. Students from all over the United States will have the opportunity to put their words and ideas into actions.
For STUDENTS who think parents just don’t understand, or that adults never listen to what you have to say and think they have all the answers, we invite you – no – WE URGE you to point us in the right direction. Tell us what you feel is not working in your schools and what YOU think should be done about it. We will not insult your intelligence by telling you that we have the answers to an age old problem, however, as a team, we will take action against violence, and produce lasting results. Far too many of your peers have suffered in silence, NOW IS THE TIME for everyone to speak.
- Show us that violence has no place in school by choosing peace over violence.
- Tell us why you feel bullying and violence has increased and become more deadly.
- Share with us your personal stories.
For PARENTS who as unsure as to where to turn when help is needed, how to ask for help, or even how to recognize the warning signs that your child needs help, WE URGE you to take the first step and call someone. There are multiple resources in your community but sometimes they are hard to find if you don’t know where to look. Well, luckily you’ve come to the right place. Take part in NVEEE’s ‘Peace for a Day’ campaign by:
