Who Are We

WHO IS NVEEE

NVEEE, established in October 2009, is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to provide support services to youths and families affected by bullying, violence, and suicide, through preventative education and communication.

NVEEE has a proven track record for educating parents, students, and educators on the many facets of bullying, teen suicide, and violence committed amongst youths and young adults.  Education is an essential part of how NVEEE empowers families and communities.

NVEEE’s success is clearly represented in the lives of the youths and families we have touched, inspired and empowered to live happy, successful and productive lives. In this package you will the opportunity to meet four of NVEEE’s teen mentees who have been empowered by our leadership and mentoring:

  • Josie Lou Ratley, 16-years old: A headline story that shocked the nation, Josie was brutally attacked and suffered traumatic brain injury at the hands of another student. She almost died from her injuries and spent an extended period of time in intensive care. Although she will never be the same, Josie is on the long road to recovery. NVEEE’s teen mentors tutored her during the summer of 2010.
  • Jamia Barber, 13-years old: After the years of name-calling and isolation she was receiving from her classmates, she was angry at the world. Jamia is now a treasured peer mentor and is president of her 7th grade class.
  • Jacob Carpenter, 15-years-old: He was placed in home schooling because his peers were physically bullying him. Jacob is now attending regular public school due to his involvement as a mentee in NVEEE’s program.

In Florida alone, NVEEE has reached more than 750 students through our signature “Not On My Watch Bullying and Prevention Workshop.” As of March 2011, this workshop will be accessible to educational institutions across the nation.

WHAT DISTINGUISHES NVEEE FROM OTHER

ANTI-BULLYING ORGANIZATIONS

NVEEE is a stand-alone community based program with no political or religious affiliation. We embrace all segments of the community and embrace all race and ethnic backgrounds, social levels, sexual orientations, and gender identities.

NVEEE’s programs can be taught anywhere, and through NVEEE can be replicated within the community, regardless of the income level of the school or community.

NVEEE’s programming is driven by students who empower other students to powerfully communicate and on all levels. Students are essential, and are the main ingredient to the success of the NVEEE family.

  • Suggestions from students influence what is included in NVEEE’s workshop materials.
  • The programming is specific to the needs of students, educators and their particular communities.
  • NVEEE’s “Not On My Watch Bullying and Harassment Prevention Workshops” are peer-led and offered to private and public schools, as well as colleges and universities.
  • Teens are not only invited but are encouraged to participate in NVEEE’s Speakers Bureau. The school and parents who allow the involvement of their students are provided special consideration and tutoring.
  • The programming is adaptable.  It teaches the different types of bullying, identification of what constitutes bullying and harassment, and the effects these behaviors have on families and communities.

NVEEE not only provides direct services to families and communities affected by bullying, teen suicide and school violence, we also provide programming to educational institutions through our staff and speakers bureau.
